Olivia Rodrigo suffered an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction as she kicked off her four-night run at London's O2 Arena on Tuesday.

The American pop star was performing her track, Love Is Embarrassing, from her second studio album Guts when her leather crop top became undone.

The 21-year-old quickly put her hand in front of her chest to prevent the garment from falling off her shoulders, before signalling to one of her backup dancers to help.

The Grammy winner couldn't contain her laughter as her dancer quickly fixed her top so much so stopped singing, and quipped: “This is f**king embarrassing woohoo!”

Tuesday was her first show out of four in London during her Guts tour - she is set to perform also on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

The Standard’s El Hunt gave the singer a glowing review, writing: “Fortunately, Rodrigo’s hit rate allows such freedom, and it is testament to the strength and ubiquity of Rodrigo’s still lean back catalogue that this often felt like a Greatest Hits show rather than her first arena tour.”

The tour, which spans 77 stops across North America and Europe, will culminate in Los Angeles at the Kia Forum in August.

Her London gig comes after she shared her disappointment after her shows were postponed at Manchester’s troubled Co-op Live arena due to a “venue-related technical issue”.

The £365 million venue - the biggest indoor arena in the UK - had postponed its opening show for the third time just over an hour before A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie was set to perform earlier this month, confirming there was a problem during the soundcheck.

A component of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system used to direct air had separated from the ductwork.

The installer, contractor and third-party inspector will now have to test each nozzle to confirm they are free from the defect, said the Oak View Group.

Two hours after cancelling A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, the venue confirmed Rodrigo would not be performing on May 3 and 4.

Rodrigo expressed her disappointment to fans about not being able to perform her shows on social media.

She penned on her Instagram Story at the time: “I've been having such a great time in Europe so far and I'm sooooo disappointed that we're unable to perform in Manchester due to on-doing venue-related technical issues.”

The singer said she and her team were “doing their best to reschedule the show,” ending her statement by telling her followers: “im so bummed and I really hope to see you all soon.”

The US star was scheduled to perform two dates as part of her Guts World Tour in Manchester on Friday and Saturday but in an Instagram statement on Wednesday night she announced they had been axed.

A statement from the arena on X, formerly Twitter, said: “Due to an on-going venue-related technical issue, the scheduled performances of Olivia Rodrigo’s Guts World Tour on May 3 and 4 are being postponed.

“Ticket holders can either hold on to their tickets or obtain a refund at point of purchase.”
